The members of the Celtic Well list have read and reviewed the books in this database. We consider many of these books to be reliable sources of information about the Celts and Celtic religion--ancient, medieval, and modern--or related fields, but not all of them.

Books are rated on a 1-5 scale -- books with a 5 rating are considered to be well-written, serious studies of their respective topics. Although we may not agree with every opinion expressed in these books, the authors draw defensible conclusions from the available evidence. Books with a 1 rating are on our Not Recommended List, however. We do not review books about personal spirituality of any persuasion, but you may find inspiration in many of the volumes listed here.
