This is a 1:16 scale version of the John Deere 70. What makes this one special is that it is The 1996 National Farm Toy Museum Tractor. Established in 1985, The National Farm Toy Museum is a joint venture between The Ertl Company and Dyersville Industries. The Ertl Company agreed to provide five sets of Cockshutts over a five-year period to finance the museum, and Dyersville Industries was named owner of the museum. In 1990, Dyersville Industries made its final installment paying off the construction note as the fifth set was completed. Ertl agreed to produce one tractor per year as a commemorative issue to help fund the museum in its work.
The tractor itself is very cool. It has marking indicating that it is The National Farm Toy Museum 10 th anniversary tractor. I have one other museum tractor under the Oliver section of my page. I hope to go there some day, since you are provided with 2 free passes when you buy the tractor. By the way, yes the umbrella is made out of cloth! Very cool.
